About

I created SCY in May of 2020, when I was just over one year sober. When going alcohol free, I felt very alone and lacked a sense of belonging. Going sober alone is really, really hard, because you’re completely changing your routines, rituals, and sometimes even your friendships. It helps to have a community to lean on for support.

What makes a Sober Curious Yoga class different than a regular yoga class? Each class begins with a fifteen-minute check-in, giving each person an opportunity to pick up a “talking stick,” and share how they are doing, in sobriety or otherwise. This check-in is a judgement free zone, where we listen with compassionate curiosity, avoid interruptions and giving advice. This creates a sense of belonging, where everyone feels included and accepted -wherever they are on their journey. These classes are facilitated and led by trained graduates of the Sober Curious Yoga Teacher Training, a 30 hour course I teach.

If you are looking for a kickstart for your sober curious journey, we offer Sober Curious Yoga School (SCYS). This is an eight week course, designed with weekly workbooks with tips, tools, strategies and journal prompts, designed to help you create a life you don’t need alcohol to escape from. As part of SCYS, you get to be part of a small group facilitated by one SCY Teacher each week that includes a check-in, meditation, guided journalling and discussion.

Sober Curious Yoga is so much more than your typical on-demand, habit changing program to go alcohol free - it gives real, tangible support. Wherever you are on your journey, you will be loved and accepted as part of our group - and with our support, you can create the life you’ve always dreamed of.
