Bhakti

Bhakti is the yoga of devotion - a path of opening the heart and remembering our connection to something greater than ourselves.

While many modern expressions of yoga focus primarily on the physical practice, Bhakti invites us into a different experience of yoga: one rooted in love, devotion, surrender and connection.

One of the central practices of Bhakti Yoga is kirtan, the communal chanting of sacred mantras. Through repetition, music and shared voice, we move out of the thinking mind and into the heart. You don't need to be a singer, musician, or know anything about Sanskrit to participate — you simply come as you are and add your voice to the practice.

Alexandra's Bhakti offerings include kirtan, mantra, harmonium, devotional practices and teachings from the yogic tradition. Whether you are chanting in a room full of people or quietly repeating a mantra on your own, these practices offer a pathway back to presence, connection and remembrance.

Chant. Open the heart. Remember.

"You don’t have to travel to Bali to get yoga alliance certification, but if you want to or you’re already there, The Mindful Life Practice provides an amazing experience in a beautiful Villa just outside of Ubud. Alex is down to earth, humble, dedicated to her sober community, and steadfast in the continuous growth of her yoga practice. If you do a YTT or a retreat you will be supported & comfortable, your light will be nurtured, and you’ll have some time to explore Bali too."

Darlene, Virginia

"I have been practicing Yoga with Alex at The Mindful Life Practice since May of last year and I absolutely love it! Alex is the most genuine, authentic and inspiring instructor that I've ever had. After practicing with her for just a few months I decided to sign up for her Yoga Teacher Trainings and am so happy that I did. There is such a light and beautiful energy that Alex brings to her classes that I thoroughly enjoy. I highly recommend attending her classes if you are in Bali or online if you can't attend in person!"

"I wish there were 6 stars! Alex's approach to yoga was the magic that allowed me to develop a practice that is now a daily thing. She is accommodating to all levels and encourages everyone to take what they need from their practice. Highly recommend taking a class with her if you get the opportunity! She's led me through 230 hours of YTT and also a retreat in Mexico and I'm forever grateful."
