Meet Sara. Back when I began interviewing community members I thought of starting with the two of our most committed and devoted yogis, Nadia & Sara. However, before given the torch from Yasmine, our original blogger, we both interviewed them. So I kept their interviews. Gratefully, due to the efforts the Abu Dhabi government dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic, we had our restrictions eased and I had the pleasure of meeting them both for the first time in person during last week cruise event by Alex. So I thought it‘d be great to bring these interviews back.
Sara is one of the very first to join Alex in her adventure when she started offering classes during lockdown. Her and Nadia, on the blog next week, were two of the many pillars of the MLPC beginnings and they were attending every single class for more than 8 months straight. If you’ve been to one of our original classes you probably seen them, well maybe their names since they prefer to have their cameras off. Since life is kind of back to normal here, they’re now enjoying the On-Demand classes [how amazing is the archives by the way :)] to maintain their practice.
Sara likes classes like Power Vinyasa, Pilates, Mindful Barre, Vinyasa Flow, Meditation & Yin Yoga. So, without any further ado enjoy our All-Stars and the guest of this week answers to our blog questions...
Hi Sara! Tell us a little bit about yourself! Who is Sara?
Sara: I am Sara Jawad, 24 years old and live in Abu Dhabi. I have been doing yoga for a little bit over a year now.
What inspired you to start practicing yoga?
Sara: I honestly never thought to do yoga. It was last year [2019] with the motivation to move and workout with Nadia! She came up with the idea to try in yoga and got me excited for that.
Funny thing our first yoga class was with Alex and ever since me and Nadia do yoga on a daily basis. It’s part of my day routine and I’m sure Nadia’s too.
Have you ever had any experience with yoga before joining the MLPC?
Sara: Yes, it was in a studio called The Room where Alex was working at the time and that where I started and eventually ended up joining the MLPC.
What’s your connection to the MLPC?
Sara: Nadia and Alex are my connection to the MLPC.

How did you end up being so committed to yoga?
Sara: What made me committed was just the vibes and the feeling I get during and after yoga.
Did you face any challenges during the month of June?
Sara: Challenging my self to do the 30 day yoga challenge was honestly one of the best decision I have ever made. It Helps push me to get better at yoga and gradually advancing in life which makes me feel so proud and accomplished too!
What are the biggest benefits you’ve reaped from your yoga practice?
Sara: Becoming stronger and flexible as well as being more mindful and calm.
What’s your favorite posture?
Sara: Oh God so many. Where do I start!
Pigeon pose, camel pose, dancers pose, head and shoulders stand, extended side angle and many more.
What’s your most difficult posture?
Sara: I have difficulties with some advanced poses such as insect and grasshopper pose but I’m hopping one day I will get to them.
What is your favorite type(s) of yoga? And why?
Sara: Yin, Vinyasa, power, HIIT, and yoga barre.
Love all levels since each one of them is a type of yoga my body would crave and it feels good to do a bit of almost everything!
Any words of wisdom to those just starting out?
Sara: Whatever you are thinking of trying, even if you think you won’t like it or you can’t do it, you might surprise yourself. So just try!
Thank you so much Sara! We are so lucky to have you as part of our community. So glad I finally got to meet you in person and can’t wait to see more of our lovely community in future events.
